My research is in the area of maternal-infant health, ethical nursing practice and women's health within both acute care settings and a rural and Aboriginal context. My current studies share the goal of addressing health inequities based on concepts of social justice and advancing health policy and service delivery that account for the social determinants of health and the socioeconomic context of health care. I utilize qualitative methodologies and participatory action principles to conduct research to enhance the health and well-being of women, infants and children in different contexts to optimize ethical practice and policy.
